Unit dimensions, access routes and the way you pack can change what fits. Treat size comparisons as a starting point and ask the facility team when in doubt.
Renovation dust travels farther than expected, and moving furniture repeatedly can cause more damage than placing it in storage once. A clean, dry unit gives tradespeople room to work and keeps valued pieces out of harm’s way.
Clean before wrapping
Dust and moisture trapped under covers can mark surfaces during storage. Wipe timber, vacuum upholstery and make sure every item is fully dry before it is wrapped or boxed.
Use breathable protection
Furniture blankets and cotton covers are better for long periods than tightly sealed plastic. Use proper mattress covers, protect glass with rigid panels and keep small fixings in labelled bags attached to the matching item.
Leave room for the unexpected
Renovation programmes change. Keep a central aisle and avoid placing the most important boxes behind large pieces. A slightly more accessible layout saves time when a contractor suddenly needs a fitting or sample.
